
Gennaro’s Ristorante Italiano is a family-owned and operated restaurant dedicated to serving authentic Italian cuisine rooted in the traditions of Naples, Italy. The DiMeo and Taccogna families are committed to delivering exceptional food quality and warm, attentive service to meet the needs of every guest. Our guiding motto, “che mangia bene, vive bene,” means “who eats well, lives well,” and reflects our passion for genuine hospitality.
Gennaro and Elsa DiMeo bring parts of five decades of experience in the restaurant industry. What is now Gennaro’s Ristorante Italiano began in 1988 in Deer Park, Texas, with the opening of Antonio’s Pizza & More. After proudly serving the community and expanding to three locations in La Porte and Baytown, Texas, the DiMeos embraced a new chapter—bringing their love of Italian cuisine to the scenic Texas Hill Country. This journey led to the creation of their beloved Canyon Lake, Texas destinations: Gennaro’s Trattoria and Elio’s Pizzeria.

Dino and Teresa Taccogna share this same devotion to quality, hospitality, and excellence. Dino Taccogna was born in Bari, in Italy’s Puglia region, where food was the heart of everyday life. Family gatherings, holidays, special celebrations, and daily meals all revolved around the powerful connections created through homemade cooking. Together, Dino and Teresa are passionate about ensuring every guest receives outstanding service and a memorable dining experience from every member of the team.
